Black and white

While I'm currently in London enjoining the great weather and amazing times with my family, I thought I should shed some more light one of my favorite outfits I wore in Split. You saw the whole look in this previous article already.  I wore a black and white ensemble that I got to choose from the new collection at New Yorker.
An easy breazy holiday look consisting of a pretty top with a tribal-likeprint and black shorts. The shorts must be my favorite because they fit so well and can be paired with cool shirts and more feminine blouses or tops. I almost wore it all through my holiday. I added some color to my look with simple flat sandals I bought at Zara in Cannes 2 years ago. The leopard print went well with my sunnies and added a playful twist to my look. It really was the perfect look in the Croatian heat, especially when doing sightseeing.

DE: Während ich gerade in London bin und das tolle Wetter sowie eine wundervolle Zeit mit meiner Familie genieße, gibt es heute mehr von meinem Lieblingslook aus Kroatien. Den konntet ihr ja hier schon in einem anderen Artikel sehen. Mein schwarz-weißer Look bestand aus einigen tollen Teilen, die ich mir aus der neuen Kollektion von New Yorker aussuchen durfte. Ein sehr leichter und angenehmer Look bestehend aus einem Top mit coolem Muster und einer schwarzen lässigen Shorts. Die Shorts gehört mittlerweile zu meinen Lieblingsteilen im Schrank. Im Urlaub habe ich sie fast täglich getragen, denn man kann sie vielseitig kombinieren. Ob mit einer schicken Bluse und Heels, oder einem lässigen T-Shirt und Birkenstocks, sie passt einfach zu allem. In diesem Fall habe ich den schicken Look gewählt und mit meinen Sandalen von Zara einige Farbakzente gesetzt. Das Leomuster auf den Sandalen ergänzte meine TRIWA Thelma Sonnenbrille super. Mein perfektes Outfit für einen langen Tag voll Sightseeing in Kroatien.

Split Food: Chops-Grill & Mazzgoon

Before even landing in Split, I had a long list of places I wanted to eat at or just hang out. Some were recommendations I got from lovely readers on Instagram and others I found online, while preparing for my trip. So when I finally got to Split I went to the first place right after checking in at the Hotel. One perk of traveling alone is doing whatever you want to, whenever you want to.

So I did as I felt and crossed off one place after another on my list. The very first one I went to was 1. Chops-Grill an à la carte restaurant just minutes away from the Divota Hotel. It's a steak&seafood restaurant that offer a range of dishes and an amazing list of wines. Unfortunately I did get to take any photos but make sure to give this place a try when you're there. I had grilled salmon, served with sliced lemon, a drizzle of the restaurant's own olive oil and creamy Swiss chard and a glass of red. Simply delicious! 

The second place I had dinner at was 2. Mazzgoon. It's actually one of the most popular restaurants in Split. I really looked forward to trying out this one in particular. The whole environment of Mazzgoon is amazing. Apart from the super stylish ambience inside, including stonewalls and funny sayings, the restaurant also consists of a small patio where customers can sit outside. Summer in Split means 35 degrees almost all day long, so enjoying a dinner outside is always a good idea. I opted for a boring Caesar's salad on this occasion - at least that's what I thought when ordering. I got served a super delicious salad made of fresh chicken breast filet, bacon, greens and cheese. Damira and I added some rose an white wine to finish off our lovely dinner. The staff gave us some complimentary Cherry Schnaps after we were done. An amazing night and definitely worth another visit. 

DE: Noch bevor ich überhaupt in Split angekommen war, hatte ich eine endlos lange List angefertigt von Orten, die ich unbedingt sehen wollte und auch Restaurants und Cafés, die ich gerne ausprobieren wollte. Einige waren Tipps, die ich von netten Followern auf Instagram bekam, andere hatte ich durch meine Onlinerecherche gefunden. Als ich also endlich im Hotel ankam und eingecheckt hatte, verschlug es mich sofort zum ersten Restaurant auf meiner Liste. Wenn man alleine reist, ist einer der Vorteile, dass man machen kann was man will und wann immer man will.  Und genau das habe ich in meinen fünf Tagen in Split getan. Das erste Restaurant, das ich ausprobierte, war 1. Chops-Grill  ein à la carte Restaurant, bekannt für gutes Steak und frische Meeresfrüchte und ist nur wenige Minuten vom Hotel Divota. Leider habe ich meine Kamera im Hotel vergessen und hatte solchen Hunger, dass es von diesem Restaurant keine Bilder gibt. Dennoch solltet ihr es unbedingt mal ausprobieren, wenn ihr nach Split kommt. Ich hatte an diesem Abend einen gegrillten Lachs mit Zitronenscheiben, Olivenöl und Mangold. Dazu passte natürlich perfekt ein Glas Rotwein. Einfach superlecker!
Das zweite Restaurant, das ich euch ans Herz legen möchte ist wahrscheinlich mein 'Favorit: 2. Mazzgoon.  Es ist auch unter den Einheimischen, eines der beliebtesten Restaurants. Das gesamte Ambiente ist einfach supercool. Ein Mix aus rustikaler antiker Einrichtung und modernen Akzenten. Außerdem verfügt das Mazzgoon über einen schönen Innenhof. Dort kann man an heißen Sommertagen bis spät in den Abend sitzen, wunderbares Essen und das ein oder andere Glas Wein genießen. Ich bestellte einen langweiligen Caesars Salad - das dachte ich zumindest. Was ich jedoch bekam, war ein köstlicher Salat aus frischem Hähnchenbrustfilet, knusprigem Bacon, verschiedenen Salatblättern und delikatem Käse. Damira und ich rundeten unser Dinner mit dem obligatorischen Glas Wein ab. Vom Personal bekamen wir nach unserem tollen Essen noch gratis Kirschschnaps. Wahrlich ein gelungener Abend und definitiv immer wieder einen Besuch wert.

Summer in Split

On my second last day in Split I met up with  Damira  an amazing photographer who showed me around the city and also took these beautiful snap shots. We walked for quite some time and I got to explore the city with a local, which was a great decision.
I got to see some secret spots I would have never been able to without the insight of a local. We stopped by on the way and had coffee, then later in the day we enjoyed some wine along the Riva. I did some little shopping and we ended up having ice-cream at the best places in Split (more about where to eat soon). I had a splendid day and can't wait to get back to that stunning place.

DE: An meinem vorletzten Tag in Split traf ich mich mit Damira. Sie ist eine tolle Fotografin 'based' in Kroatien. Sie zeigte mir die geheimen Ecken der Stadt, die man als Tourist wahrscheinlich sonst nicht sehen bekommen würde. Natürlich machte sie bei unserem langen Spaziergang durch die Stadt auch einige tolle Aufnahmen von mir. Wir hielten zwischendurch an und tranken einen Kaffee und am frühen Nachmittag gönnten wir uns einen Wein an der Riva Promenade. Ich erledigte meine Einkäufe und wir beendeten unseren Tag mit einem Eis beim besten Eiscafe der Stadt. Mehr Anregungen, wo man am besten Essen kann, gibt es bald auf dem Blog.  Bis dahin, viel Spaß mit diesen Schnappschüssen! Ich hatte einen tollen Tag mit Damira und kann es kaum erwarten, Kroatien bald wieder zu bereisen.
